Jerci Maccari (né en 1949 à Urussanga SC, Brésil). Après une première formation dans des écoles religieuses, il a commencé sa formation laïque d'artiste en 1972. Son travail présente généralement des images stylisées très colorées d'ouvriers agricoles rappelés de son enfance à Parana, observant la routine quotidienne de ses proches, plantant et récolter, vivre au milieu de la nature. L'absence de visages dans ses personnages critique le peu d'importance accordée au travailleur rural, sans qui personne ne mangerait.

Jerci Maccari (b 1949 in Urussanga SC, Brazil). After early training in religious schools, he started his secular training as an artist in 1972. His work typically features highly coloured stylised images of farm labourers recalled from his childhood in Parana, watching the daily routine of his relatives, planting and reaping, living in the midst of nature. The absence of faces in his characters critiques the scant importance given to the rural worker, without whom no-one would eat.
